How to Go to Bohol Travel Guide

Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines, located in the Central Visayas region.

The island is also known for its annual historical celebration, the Sandugo Festival in Tagbilaran City held every July.

The month-long festival kicks off on July 1 which is the Tagbilaran City Charter Day.

The festival is in honor of the Treaty of Friendship between the Bohol chieftain, Datu Sikatuna and Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi through a blood compact or “Sandugo”.

There are a lot of ferry boats that connect Bohol to its nearby ports, especially on the island of Cebu.

Tagbilaran to Cebu route is the most famous route in getting to Bohol because it has several schedules per day and the famous Panglao Beach is just a few minute ride from the pier.

Another port of entry to Bohol is via Tubigon. The travel time from Cebu to Tubigon is only an hour thru Fastcraft and 2 hours for regular vessels.

Tubigon is the favorable entry for the following tourist destinations: Butterfly Sanctuary, Sagbayan Peak, Chocolate Hills, the floating restaurant in Loboc river and the famous smallest primates the tarsiers.
